Petals

This piece is composed of four paintings of 90cm on 80cm hung up to form a square or a line of about 3m2.

Each painting is composed of a particleboard with cut flowers on the foreground and “petals” painted in acrylic on the board itself.

Sweet blend of the real and the unreal, this piece explores nature representation by hyperrealism of the painted petals and the model in fabric, that could well be replaced by flowers of the season…

… And asks the relevant question of perception of true and false of anything.
